April 2015

Let's see, what happened in April? Oh yeah, we had a baby! Wednesday, April 1st I posted on Facebook that Nichole had the baby. One of my coworkers believed it and spread the word to everyone. I got a text from my supervisor asking if I was coming in. The next day, people were saying congrats. Thursday, Nichole started having tons of contractions, so I called in to have all my clients cancelled for Friday. I'm glad I did because even though Roscoe didn't come until that evening, it appears that once he was ready to come, he was going to come quick! Nichole actually drove to pick up her mom from the airport that morning since the contractions had stopped. Once she got here, we went out and ran errands for a few hours. At Costco we sampled some zip fizz and they gave us a whole bottle. Nichole drank the whole thing. We think that's what sent her into labor. Soon, the contractions started coming stronger, but Nichole was still wandering around cleaning the house. I finally convinced her to get in the car and we raced to the hospital a little on edge. We walked in and went to the admitting room. Nichole had a hard time figuring out how to get her gown on, but was still in pretty good spirits. While answering some questions from the nurse, all of the sudden her water broke. It was like a water balloon had been launched into the wall. The nurse took a look and told Nichole that there was no time for an epidural as the baby was coming. Nichole was so brave. Within a few minutes Roscoe came flying out. The doctor wasn't even in the room yet.
As you can see, he's a very handsome little boy. He is very calm and easy going. He smiles a lot and sleeps well. He is just awesome and we are so glad to have him in our family.

Before the baby we went to the humane society and played with these pups. The girls had a blast.

Then we went to walking trail that led under an overpass where there was sand and water. Again, the girls had tons of fun.

Here is big old pregnant me in Jeff's sweatshirt doing a weird pose. What beautiful scenery though, huh?
And then the girls rolled down hills. It was a really fun day.

My Mom always brings little presents for the girls when she comes. It is so fun. These are the last pregnant pictures of me. No time for a picture in the hospital.

We were and are so grateful to my Mom. She was a lifesaver, and she and Emily totally bonded. Abi may or may not have told her she "wasn't her real Grandma". But she loved my Mom also. They made cookie dough and zoo shaped pasta, and went on easter egg hunts and had lots of fun.
