Oct 2014

Some highlights of October: I got licensed as a Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington, which got me a raise and opened up the opportunity to do private practice. Watching General Conference. We made a super fun trip to Utah: First we saw our wonderful friends from San Antonio, The Bosters, who now live in Ogden. As we shared a few Thanksgivings down there, but it was still October, we had an early "Friendsgiving Dinner". It was awesome. With all of our options of games, we decided on one epic game of Monopoly. I almost went bankrupt quite a few times, but ultimately pulled out a victory. After seeing the Bosters, we went down to Bluffdale to spend the afternoon with my sister, Kari and her family. Then we stayed over in West Jordan with Nichole's sister, Natalie and her family. It was fun carving pumpkins, have a picnic at the park, going to the amazing library, swimming, and playing fun games. Joseph made an awesome chocolate crème pie that rivaled anything we could have gotten at the cheesecake factory. After spending a few days with Natalie and Joseph, we went over to Kari and Todd's and attended Lincoln's football game where we saw him make some awesome plays. We also saw Anna and Kaylee do some super cool dance moves, Dallin showed us how to shoot hoops on the Wi and Russell showed us how to hide really well. We had fun playing Dominion that night, before heading back to Yakima the next day. We had a little adventure on our way back. We had taken my dad's van and were pulling a trailor with a couch and loveseat that Natalie and Joseph generously gave us. I overestimated how much further our gas would get us and we ended up getting stuck on the side of the road. Thankfully God was looking out for us and there were some really kind people that helped us out. A Russian truck driver gave me a ride to the next gas station, then another guy gave me a ride back in his van. After stopping at Wingers, we made it home safe. Just a week after this trip, we decided to take up the Denton's on their invitation to get together in Oregon. We went to Multnomah Falls for the morning then spent the afternoon playing Stone Age. It took like 6 hours because we tried doing it with all of the kids still awake. We then drove over to Clint and Julie's for dinner. It was so fun to see them and to see our kids interact with one another.

Abi cut her own hair, it wasn't even too noticeable,

But we had it trimmed anyways.

Emily grew up a ton this month but still no words, so we had lots of tantrums. I think we started "time outs" this month for when she pulled hair and bit. She caught on right away.
