December 2014

December seems like so long ago. We had a fantastic month. We really enjoyed being close to family for the holidays. Some things we want to remember: Abi always asking to see the Grinch (there was a house with tons of Christmas lights and a big Grinch in the hop fields across the road), watching the Christmas devotional, our first ugly sweater Christmas party at the Hartmans, making gingerbread houses with the Beddards, my dad singing in the Nativity musical thing, our ward Christmas party with decorated snow men being placed on our house afterward, watching Elf with Lisa and Alan, the girls being soooo excited Christmas morning, going to the event center all of the kids dancing like crazy, meeting Todd's (now fiancé) Jessica, seeing Michael and Jamie in Spokane for lunch (seeing the huge Christmas tree and buying my black hoodie), lots of people dropping off treats and caroling, making snow Christmas morning, getting my parents old freezer and making the box to their new one into an awesome time machine, seeing the lighted trucks driving by, and Nichole's first piano recital here in Moxee. I think maybe the most meaningful experience I had was when we went to the Stone church's presentation of A night in Bethlehem. It was incredible. They had tons of animals (even a camel), people all dressed up pretending to sell things, roman guards on horses, etc. It really felt like you were in Bethlehem. After all of that going on, you ended at the quiet stable away from everything else where Mary and Joseph were holding their new baby. It struck me how all of this crazy stuff was going on in the city, and no one only a few shepherds knew that the most important even in history was taking place. I'm so grateful for our Savior and for the Christmas season we had to celebrate him.
